Alex and Kat's Gorgeous Coastal Wedding at Carswell Farm in Devon

When Kat and Alex contacted me from New Zealand, where they live (and where Alex is from) about their wish to get married at Carswell Farm in the South Hams, Devon, I was very excited about it (well, after initially being slightly disappointed they weren’t getting married in NZ!). Carswell Farm sits on a piece of coast that lies very dear to my heart having been the area in which I grew up, a favourite stomping ground and sporting some of the most gorgeous views in the South West of the county (even with my bias!). It could have been a very different story had the weather been typically Devon-like, however once again we were blessed with the most beautifully sunny (if a tad windy - managing to blow some of the floral decorations off their perches) day. Highlights of the day included: location, location, location… it was quite surreal being a wedding photographer on my home-patch of Devon turf; the cow train - everyone needs a cow-train at a wedding; Kat’s awesome floral headpiece which really set off her outfit; the beautiful open-sided marquee making the most of the incredible views; the music throughout the day; a growingly-intense game of footie eventually silhouetted by the setting sun; the very moving speeches and hearing how Alex and Kat’s love had blossomed despite their having come from opposite sides of the world; and erm, the location! Kat, Alex, it was such a glorious day and I hope everything you dreamed of, and I wish you both a very happily wedded life together!
