Lucy and Luke's EPIC Port Eliot Wedding in Cornwall

Wow, wow, wow, WOW! What can I say? Over from Dubai to get wed in Cornwall at Port Eliot, Lucy and Luke’s wedding was certainly up there with my most memorable. Since becoming a wedding photographer several years ago I have ALWAYS wanted to shoot a wedding at the beautiful Port Eliot Estate in St German’s, Cornwall, having first acquainted myself with it 15 years ago when a friend did a photoshoot at Port Eliot for Brides in Cornwall magazine when it existed. The decadent romance of the place stuck in my mind ever since, and on visiting the annual festival it reaffirmed my desire to shoot there. Now with such anticipation I could not have asked for a more epic wedding to photograph than that of Lucy and Luke. And by epic, I mean EPIC! The fact that over half the blog images are from the party says it all really! These guys were fun with a capital ‘F’. Highlights of the day (where do I start?) include: getting to shoot at Port Eliot Estate; discovering an entire horse-drawn carriage (minus horses) in the entrance hallway…as you do; stumbling upon the groomsmen rehearsing their excellent speech at the nearby pub; Lucy’s mum accidentally sticking the golf-buggy into reverse whilst decorating it; the laid back atmosphere whilst getting ready; the beautiful wedding ceremony in the Orangery (complete with Lucy almost losing her shoe in a Cinderella style moment); getting a bit lost amongst the beautiful grounds whilst hunting for the marquee and consequentially finding some beautiful woods to wander through; the bandanas (Luke’s favourite headwear) making an appearance across the wedding; the dancing…oh man, these guys knew how to party and the band The Secret Spitfires got everyone going crazy, I don’t think i’ve ever had so much fun / found my feet losing contact with the floor at a wedding party before. Luke, Lucy - you were absolute legends to photograph, what a wedding day you had! I wish you both the very best for your married life together, I have a feeling it will be filled with an awful lot of fun and laughter!
