Wow, what a rollercoaster it has been! Where do I even start?! 2022 has definitely been one of the best years for my career as a wedding photographer. After the chaos of the Covid19 pandemic, with lockdowns wreaking havoc on weddings in Devon and the rest of the U.K. it was a huge, huge relief to finally be let out of the starting gates in 2021 with full freedom to photograph weddings restriction free. It was also exciting to be able to get back into the swing of destination wedding photography, photographing long-time postponed weddings in Spain and the South of France.

I have spent a lot of time over 2021 and 2022 reflecting on, improving and refining my documentary wedding photography. What the lockdowns did give me was a lot of free time at home in Devon to really put energy into my wedding photography business and come out bigger and better the otherside.

I am extremely proud and humbled to say that I have been named one of Rangefinder Magazine’s ’30 Rising Stars of Wedding Photography’…in the world! An accolade given to many of the best wedding photographers in the U.K. and worldwide, wow. That follows on from being named one of This is Reportage’s Top 100 Wedding Photographers in the world and being awarded ‘Highly Commended’ for Best Wedding Photographer in the Southwest by The Wedding Industry Awards. Quite the comeback…and they tried to say wedding photographers weren’t viable!

Of course, none of this would have been possible without the amazing couples who have entrusted me to photograph their weddings and given me the freedom to capture their wedding images in the way I interpret the day. It continues to be a huge honour and after the madness of recent history I feel even more grateful than ever to be able to say that I am one of Devon’s, and the U.K’s best wedding photographers as championed by my clients. I cannot wait to see what adventures across Devon, the U.K. and Europe my wedding season of 2023 has ahead!
