Frequently Asked Questions

I don't typically work with a second photographer because working solo allows me to be more discreet and shoot the documentary images that really bring the feeling of your wedding alive. I tend to blend into your day as almost a guest with a camera, quietly working and building rapport with your guests enabling me to capture the true atmosphere of your big day without making it feel like a photo-shoot. The images you see on my website and my style of working is what will be delivered on your day.
However, if you are planning a large wedding or feel your ceremony coverage would benefit from two photographers please contact me to discuss our options and I can advise you on whether it would enhance your coverage.

My empathetic, warm and friendly ease that enables me to seamlessly read each scene to know how and when to anticipate moments and behaviours, with an innate sense for the magical ‘peak’ of a moment that elevates it from a simple candid ‘snap’ to imagery that stops your world at that precise time and allows it to live and breath forever more.

If I am unable to physically cover your wedding due to an accident or illness I have access to a network of excellent wedding photographers that provide coverage in a similar style and are able to offer stand in support in the unlikely event that an emergency were to occur.

Yes. I completely understand you or your family may want some beautiful traditional group shots or you may indeed like a great big group shot as a record of everyone gathered for your wedding day.
My approach with these is to guide you that approximately 6 or so combinations of groups works well to capture all the essential groups without taking you out of celebrations for too much time.
My aim is to make the group shots as easy and as swift as possible so that you and your guests can get back to the main reason you are all there - celebrating your wedding day with your loved one.

If someone at your wedding doesn’t ask me how long I have been friends with you two then i’ll be surprised! My approach is calm, friendly humour and reassurance. I deeply respect your right to enjoy your day the way you wish and work with the flow of the day, gently guiding you where requested and needed (by prior agreement) otherwise capturing the day candidly and authentically.

I work with an excellent videographer with 15 years experience so that we can offer a collaborative experience of photo and film.
Should you hire your own videographer, I am experienced with working closely with videographers. It is valuable for you to find a videographer that approaches shooting the day in a similar fashion to get the best from both of us, by allowing the day its flow.

Whilst I don’t set myself rules on how I shoot a wedding, my style very much leans into relaxed, informal, creative documentary photography with artistic, loose editorial aesthetics. I have an emphasis on reflecting the true flow of the day and am open to how that unfolds when I approach photographing a wedding.
I always aim to honour each moment with the beauty, humour, atmosphere, quirkiness, intimacy that it requires to deliver images that will remain both artistic and timeless.
