Rockbeare Manor Wedding - Lisa and Ashley's Amazing Country House Wedding

As a wedding photographer in Devon I do get to visit a vast amount of gorgeous places around the county that I never knew previously existed, Rockbeare Manor was one such spot and I fell in love with it when I photographed my first wedding there earlier this year, so I was really looking forward to returning for the wedding of Lisa and Ashley this summer. Once again we were super lucky with the weather (I know, I know, this whole “lucky with the weather” thing is starting to get old, hang on, there’s a twist coming up in a few blogs time…newsflash, oh heck, yes it rained on a wedding day! Anyways, back to Lisa and Ash…) and they were able to have a gorgeous, moving (Ash nearly set me off as he struggled to stop the tears once Lisa appeared at the end of the aisle) ceremony outdoors. Highlights of the day were: Ash and Lisa’s fantastic sense of humour, we had a lot of laughs doing their couple shots, and their natural chemistry together; their wee pup coming along to watch the ceremony (he wasn’t trusted to be the ring-bearer though, just in case he ate them); the outdoor setting and that beautiful view across the meadows; photographing the kids getting stuck into the ice cream cart - a big hit; the impromptu game of Mr and Mrs with some great expressions; Ash and Lisa’s super-friendly friend and family, and most excellent Mistress of Ceremony for the day; the hilarious speeches; a very elaborate and well-executed first dance; and fireworks! Woo hoo! What a way to end a most splendid wedding day. Ash, Lisa, you were completely awesome to photograph and I wish you every happiness for your lifetime together, I can tell already it is going to be filled with plentiful laughter and love.
