Nina and Will's Magical Devon Wedding at Ever After

It was brilliant to finally meet Nina and Will (otherwise known as Noo and Willy) after they’d jetted over from their current home in Sydney, Australia to the Devon village of Brentor where they were staying ahead of their wedding at the gorgeous Ever After at Grenofen. We’d chatted quite a bit via email and Skype, and I knew as soon as I met them in person it was going to be a brilliantly fun wedding. There was lots of laughs (and good dose of entertaining stories) during both sides of the getting-ready on the big day itself, along with plenty of emotion - especially when Nina saw her Dad arrive in his suit. In fact, from that point on the battle to stop the tears was on! Blessed with a gorgeous Devon late summer day, Noo and Willy’s dreams of an outdoor ceremony were met as they married in the courtyard of what fast became one of my new favourite Devon wedding venues to photograph at! After confetti, it was relaxing in the beautiful riverside gardens on giant deckchairs, eating canapés and drinking Pims before a delicious meal lining the stomachs before a good old knees up once the band arrived. Highlights of the day included: Kate and Dave’s utterly moving rendition of All I Ask’ from the musical ‘Phantom of the Opera’ during the signing of the register - wow, just wow! One of my favourite songs, it was sung so beautifully and powerfully that every single person listening was in tears (including myself and the venue owners!); the gorgeous cake made by bridesmaid Louise; Noo’s grandad’s presence being at the wedding in the form of a friendly Robin who popped down onto the lawn as Noo and Willy walked back from the woods; Noo’s Spice Girls dance with her dad in the morning - some impressive moves; the kids at the wedding getting into fits of giggles outside whilst doing some very accurate impression of Shrek ‘What are you doing in my swamp’; Ever After - what a venue; the warmth and welcoming nature of Noo, Willy, their family and friends - it was an absolute joy of a wedding to photograph and fantastic people to spend time with. Nina, Will - Noo, Willy - I wish the two of you the very happiest of married lives together, i’ve no doubt it will be filled with plenty more love, laughter and adventures!
